ABOUT

Amelia Famularo-Gleason (she/her) is a working professional performer, choreographer, and teacher. 

A “New York-Texan”, Amelia was born in Massapequa Park, NY before relocating to Austin, TX. Growing up she spent time cultivating her artistry as a member of the Lake Travis High School Cavalettes, Varsity Choir, and performing in HS and local Musicals. She is a graduate of Texas Tech University, from which she holds a Bachelors of Arts in Dance and a Minor in Finance. While at Texas Tech Amelia received the prestigious J.T Talkington School of Theatre & Dance- Dancer of the Year award. She was also a member of the TTU Pom Squad, President of the University Dance Company, and an Ambassador for the College of Theatre & Dance. Amelia is now located in NJ/NYC where she lives with her husband and two dogs.  

Amelia traveled across the world as a Select Artist Ensemble and Aerialist on the Norwegian Spirit with Creative Studios by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and performed at the Circuits of the Americas Peppermint Parkway. Formerly a member of Austin’s Heels & Hip Hop Company, Bomb Squad, she has also performed as a backup performer for artist Charli Babi at SXSW Film Festival. 

WHAT BRINGS ME JOY

  • My husband and partner in life Conor.
  • My dogs: Daisy the corgi and Winston the schnauzer.
  • Traveling around the world. My top places are Positano, Capri Island, and Bora Bora.
  • Spending time with my family and friends.
  • Singing at church with my mom.
  • Fitness and exercise.
  • Training in aerial silks, trapeze, lyra, indoor cycling, pilates, and yoga. 

In addition to her career as a performer, Amelia is also a teacher, mentor, and choreographer. She currently teaches virtually and in person to her students focusing on technique, choreography for competitions/performances, and audition prep.  Amelia served as Director of Operations at Body Lab in Spicewood, Texas and now guest teaches there in addition to local High School and Middle Schools when she visits Austin, TX.  As a choreographer, her dance works have been performed at the South Central-American College Dance Association Conference, regional and national dance competitions, for film projects, and live productions. Amelia teaches all styles and age groups, however her joy is in teaching Jazz, Technique, Musical Theatre, and Aerial classes.
